Personally, I lean toward the advice of Peter Drucker that we need to focus on the right things with an effective plan that is executed efficiently that produces positive outcomes for our children and grandchildren, then they can have compassion for their parents and grandparents for providing them a chance to achieve the American Dream.
My CEO BOB Fitts had a doctorate degree in economics. He was in many ways a very simple man who was highly intelligent with zero ego. He would say to us during trying times. If we don’t take care of today’s P&L we won’t have to worry about tomorrows. Simple but so true.
Dr Fitts was a very smart & wise man! Reminds me of my dad’s description of accounting - “Money in, Money out, Money left.” Sometimes its good to keep things simple.
